Retro Reads

I found an old book journal from 2002.  That's almost 10 years ago folks . . .
Wanting to compile all my reads in one place.  So here's the review.

Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli

A coming of age book about individuality and going against the crowd

Favorite quote:
"I sometimes walk in the rain without an umbrella.  When I see change, I leave it there.  If no one's looking I drop a quarter.  I listen for mockingbirds."

Thank goodness for the outrageous among us.

I don't recall much about this book but remember feeling happy & inspired when I read it.
Must pick up again.

Retro Reads

Tara Road by Maeve Binchy

Danielle Steele for adults who are embarrassed to read Danielle Steele.
Does Danielle Steele even write novels anymore?  Is she alive?

Ria & Marilyn exchange fates across the continents.
Bravely confront despair by switching lives.  One discovers comfort in relationships, the other develops a relationship with herself.

I would recommend this book for someone off to lay at the pool.
My sister probably.  Maybe not.
